Diverse Turnout on September 22 Trail Workday
We had a good, diverse turnout for September with nine volunteers showing up ready to work. A couple of guys from the Santa Cruz Track Club, an Aptos High School student needing some community service hours, a first-timer and a few of the “regulars” fueled up on coffee, juice, and apple cake, and then headed out to the Porter Trail to spend the day clearing, widening and smoothing out the rough spots.
Patrick, our fearless leader from State Parks Maintenance went off with Trail Boss Bob Thrash to repair a rusted-out culvert that had opened up and presented a serious hazard on the fire road just above Bottom of Incline.
It was a beautiful fall day to spend tending to our jewel of a State Park. Thanks to everyone who showed up and pitched in!
