Plants of the Forest

Common Name: Calla Lily Scientific Name: Zantedeschia
Blooms: (May - June) Native: No. Introduced Plant

Special Comments:  The Calla Lily (Zantedeschia) is a pretty, decorative plant popularly used in floral arrangements. However, as beautiful as it is peeking out from the ferns, this South African native doesn't belong here.

One of the most commonly introduced plants by earlier generations of settlers, the Calla Lily often blooms in Marcel's Forest during May and June.
