Sunday, March 17, 2013 Trail Work
This month we will work with the State Parks Maintenance Crew to help repair the informational panel and split rail fence at the main entrance that were damaged by the tree fall last December.
Join us at the parking lot next to the entry kiosk at 9:30AM for coffee and snacks. If there is someone manning the entry kiosk, let them know that you’re volunteering for the work day and you can park for free. Following signups, introductions, and a quick safety talk for new volunteers, we’ll gather tools and head out to work on the trails.
The forecast is for sunny weather next Sunday, but we will work rain or shine. If it looks like rain, consider bringing rain gear. Plan on working until around 2:00PM or so depending on weather and group consensus. Sturdy boots, hat, gloves, long pants, and a long sleeved shirt are highly recommended. We will may be in close proximity to poison oak, so dress appropriately. However, there should be plenty of tasks available for those that can’t risk it. Be sure to bring your own food and water. Tools will be provided.
Please sign up in advance on the Trailworkers website to let us know you’ll be joining us. It helps us better plan the workday. Looking forward to working together with you at Nisene Marks on Sunday March 17th!
Thanks for all you do to help maintain your park. We greatly appreciate all of our volunteers.
